A beautiful explosion

Ik probeerde een vriendin te helpen met haar gedicht voor Engels, en, well, ended up writing a poem myself.
Slightly based on The Fault In Our Stars.

I walk this earth

Carefully, leaving little footprints
I try and touch everything with gloves to
Protect them from my fingers

Do not breath on the paintings
Do not touch the masterpieces
Do not die in front of everyone.

But there you are
The best piece of the museum
I look at you, but you have eyes
I turn around, but you have a voice
I walk away, but you have feet
And you follow.

And I tell you to stop
And I tell you to stay
But you won't give up
And you won't walk away.

"It's love," you say, but there's also time;
"Forever," you say, but the world turns and turns;
One day it's done, as bright as it burns;
nothing stays the same.

And I'll look at you, but you'll look away;
You'll turn around, and I'll have no voice;
You''ll walk away, for you have feet
To walk where I can't follow.

    Angelic. Die laatste regels van al jouw gedichten (sorry, ik stalk) zijn zo... verdovend, rustig, prachtig. (H)
