The Truth Behind his Gaze

They think it is a shame,
But they have never asked
What is this anger he can’t tame,
And why he wears his mask.

They don’t know why he turns around,
When all hope is in front of him.
And why he is looking at the ground,
As if he has already given in.

And why he thinks it is wise
To pull his sleeves far down.
Why he tries to hide his eyes,
Or why he always frowns.

They have never heard
The truth behind his gaze,
Cause they never spoke a word
Straight into his face.
