Foto bij The arrows of Robyn Hood

whoever made that image, I thank you, I love it!

'Robyn?', someone asked. Behind me stoot the last person I'd expect to see here. How did he recognize me in this hood?
'Jefferson!', I ran into his arms. What does it matter I'm overenthousiastic, after all, I haven't seen him in months!
With a smile on his face he pushed me back. 'I got you something'
From behind his back a great pile of arrows appeared. Also, he hold out a bow. All handcrafted wood, light, flexible, it was beautiful!
'Ohw, thank you Jefferson! It's perfect!'
He responded with his most amazing smile. He looked so happy and kind. It had been the right thing to help him out the day we'd met. There is a true good soul hidden inside of him.
'It's an arrow that will never miss, coming from the land of Narnia. Originally it was property of a queen, that once ruled the country together with her siblings'
Wow, I can't believe this is really mine now! How could I ever thank him enough?
'Use it for good'
'I will', I promised.
He couldn't stay with me for long, but that was okay. When I was alone, in the forest, hunting with my bow... it felt like touching him. Everytime I put an arrow in my bow, I could feel him. He was near when I gave food to the starving, or forced rich people to share their gold. He made everything easier.
But in the nights, the stars above me whispered. They whispered his name. It was like the wind, I couldn't touch. Only my bow and arrow. But they couldn't hold me, couldn't speak to me.

The next adventure Jefferson joined me, was on my quest to a kingdom in a land of golden sand. There was a bitter man, which had been fooled by his wife. Because of her, every night, one girl had to pay with her life for what she had done. It was my job to stop this. I knew exactly what I could do. We were almost there, the palace. Guards were on both side of giant doors.
‘Robyn, don’t’
‘Please, I know I can do this’
‘What’s the matter? If you come with me, marry me, you’ll be safe’, any other day, this would be romantic.
‘I don’t want to be safe. Jefferson, if only I could make it through one more night, I have saved someone. Belief me, I can do this, I’ve seen more worlds than any other girl out here.’
‘He’ll never let you go’
‘If so, I would be his last murder. Have faith. Promise me, that if I won’t come back, you don’t come back looking for me’
He shook his head. So I took his head, forced him to face me. Me; no longer a girl, but a woman. Someone who is determined to make this world a better place. To help him belief, I added a genuine smile.
He had one last question; 'Can't you just kill him?'
I sighed. No, this man needed to change. This kingdom didn't need the revenge of his brother raging over the land.
'I wish to spent a night with the king', I bravely said to the guards. They did let me in, closed the doors in Jefferson's face. It would be the last time...
That night I'd spent the night with the king. His room was made out of gold and there were light colorful shades everywhere. But, I had to focus.
'Before we go all the way, I wish to know the girl lying next to me'
'My name is Scheherezade', I lied.
'Well, Scheherezade, what do you do?'
'I do lots of things, but one of the things I enjoy the most is telling stories. If you let me, I'll tell you a story about a ghost'
'Go ahead', the king commanded. So I started to tell. Until the morning came we sat there. 'And?', he asked. I stopped halfway my sentence.
'I fear I cannot finish this story, my lord. The sun is already rising up, my time is done'
'Please Scheherade'
'It's too long. But if you let me live another day, I can tell you the next night'
The king decided to let me live for this one time. What he didn't know, was that this was the start of many long nights. Every one of them would take him somewhere far away. I told him all the stories my mother told me. And after that I began about all the worlds I've seen. Finally, after 1001 nights, he couldn't take it anymore. If I could just finish this story, without starting the next, he would let me go.
Days past, and I went home. I dug up my bow and arrow and restarted my old life.

I'd let my arrow go. Shot, right over his shoulder into a leave on the ground.
'Thought your arrows never miss', Jefferson said without turning around. I jumped out of the three. 'They don't'
'You missed me'
'Wasn't trying to shoot you. I'd aim exactly where my arrow went', I whispered into his ear. He'd allow me to cuddle him from behind. He knew he could trust me.
'How did you get here?'
'Well, I was trying to push some kids down the well... and one took me with him. Frau Holle told me I would find you here... or anywhere else. She took me to this wonderful forest. I have been told there were dragons'
'Such an innocent girl, always on the lookout for some new kind of danger'
Actually I expected him to say something about the part of pushing kids down the well. Guess this could also be noticeable.

'Where to go next Jefferson? How can it be that you travel without TARDIS?'
'What a Tardis?'
I shook my head. 'Nevermind. It's just bigger on the inside.' I couldn't tell him about the Time-Travel adventures I had, could I? Ever since he is involved, it could change his future.
He pointed at his hat. I didn't even notice. He never had that hat with him on his adventures with me.
'This gets me from one world to another', he explained.
'It must be smaller on the outside too'
We went to check it out. Discovered a thousand worlds together. Fell in love... made love.
'Jefferson, I'm late'
'So? Hurry up. Or else I will go alone looking for the ring Rumpelstilzkin wants', he already had taken his hatt. 'Get your bow...'
He didn't understand. It was a different kind of late. 'Jefferson... I think we are having a baby'
His eyes went big. For a moment I thought he was angry. Angry that I was ruining his life as a rough guy. Then he lift me up in the air, twisting me around. 'That's great news!' I don't know why, but I started to cry. 'Let's get some treasures for our dear little fellow'
He tossed his hat.
'Let's go!', I shouted. I couldn't wait for the future to begin.
