File one Katarina’s journey to past and future

I walk after Artemis to her tent but also look around. The animals seem so wild but are so tame its beautiful to look at. Also somehow my bow and quiver hang on my back, they didn’t disappeared like Artemis said they would. We walk into the tent which is silver on the outside but on the inside its filled with animal skin rugs. It looks kind weird but also cosy. We sit down on some pillows between us is a low table. Artemis looks not older than 15 and its kind off creepy to think that she looks so young but it such a powerful goddess. “Artemis”: I say hesitating. “Yes Katarina you can speak freely”. I nod, “Why did you choose a fifteen year old girl as your human form?”: I ask. “It’s an age that fits my Huntress and it makes them feel comfortable”. “I don’t want to insult you but you look innocent but you can do horrifying things doesn’t that make this form scarier than it actually is”. “Nobody ever looked at it like that I think but also the pledge changes you slightly. So I think it changes the way they look at me too”: she just talks calm with understanding, it’s nice like I can’t say anything wrong. Then Thalia walks in with a plate with something that looks like chicken wings and some forest fruits. “Thanks”: I say but Thalia says nothing and walks just out again. “Do I have to offer something of it like they do in camp half-blood?”: I ask. “No dear this is all for you enjoy it”. “Artemis”: I start again after eating, “did your brother Apollo ever talked to you about a gipsy woman named madam Lotus?”: I ask carefully. “Why do you want to know that?”: she asks me back. “Well I met this madam Lotus and she tried the spirit of Delphi on but it failed. And Apollo would lift the curse that was left if she helped Percy and me on this quest. She also gave us the opportunity to ask her something. I asked about my mother but it only left me with more questions. This whole quest was about finding out my past which apparently only you could give me”: I explain to her. “It nice you met her that makes the story easier to start”: she says, I have to think about that but then I remember that Lotus said she knew my mother. “Your parents were both part of madam Lotus her travellers group”: Artemis starts the story I have been dying to hear.

“Their love was apparently strong from an early age so when they became of age they got married. Your mother Lilith was 17 and your father was 20”. I gasp at hearing the name of my mother I wondered so many times what it could have been but never I thought of something with such a nice ring to it. I also notice how Artemis spits at the word father and doesn’t name him what could he have done. “Their marriage was like any other in the beginning, allot of love and care for each other. They were even blessed with the gift of a child, you Katarina. But when you were born things went south. You looked nothing like your father or like Lilith so your father started to doubt Liliths loyalty. When you were one month old they had an horrible argument you had black hair and blue eyes and you were pail like no gipsy before. Your father got so angry he screamed to Lilith that she must have cheated but she told him she didn’t. He got a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her then he took you with him to leave you in the woods where I found you. Lilith stumbled all bleeding to Lotus who sought help by my brother. My brother felt sorry for her and gave Lilith a second chance in life after talking to Hades ofcours. Months later my brother brought the completely healed Lilith to me. First she was heartbroken about the monster her man became and about losing you her daughter. But she moved on she couldn’t go back to the life she had, going back meant her death. She made peace with this new life after I told her that the little girl I found was probably hers”. Artemis stops talking and looks at me.

I still have questions but allot less than when I came here. “But where is she now? What happened to her? What is this new life she got?”: I ask my remaining questions. Artemis looks serious at me. “Katarina Florica Adems-Vadoma, you have proven yourself as a gift I ask you to join my hunt and take the pledge”: she says instead of answering me. I am surprised and not at the same time but how she named me is weird she will probably explain that later to. “Yes, I pledge myself to the goddess Artemis. I turn my back from the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood and join the hunt”: I say with my back straight and look right at her while I talk. “I accept you Katarina and name thee Katarina Florica Vadoma”. Then she touches my forehead and my clothes change. Now I am wearing the same silver outfit as the other girls outside around the campfire. “Artemis I know it’s not nice to ask but can I go back to camp half-blood to say goodbye to Dean and I promised the oracle I would come back to tell her about my journey”. “Ofcours a Huntress never break a promise and goodbyes give closer. Now let’s go outside so I can answer your last questions”. I nod and follow her out of the tent.
