Dark waters

When your heart skips to a stop,
and your soul just slips away.
The breakdown yet to come,
condemning you to stay.

Snow falling from the clouds,
rain slowly making place.
The sorrow way to deep,
for the bedding in which it lays.

Words, they carve like knives,
in skin so smooth and sweet.
Refusing all the reason,
blood staining satin sheets.

Salty tears are leaking,
straight into open scars.
The sting which they are bringing,
locked tight behind the bars.

And no one sees it coming,
all the hurt and pain within.
Untill she's down there drowning,
a shadow of what she's been.
