Not shot (yet)

What we hear:
Protestors are causing a ruckus
Marching in the streets
Yelling that they feel that only
Black lives matter

What is happening:
Protestors are standing up for themselves
Marching in the streets
Because police don’t seem to realize
Black lives matter

What we hear:
“But when you block traffic
That’s a form of violence”
And police choking a man
Is just them doing their jobs

What is happening:
People blocking traffic
With peaceful protesting
Because a man’s last words
Were “I can’t breathe”

What we hear:
Black thugs are looting the stores
Rioters are attacking police and
Streets are safe no longer
Why this unnecessary violence?

What is happening:
Officers are using excessive force
Police are attacking rioters and
Teargas is everywhere
Why this unnecessary violence?

What we hear:
Brenda Buttner, a white Fox News reporter
Summing up what’s wrong with this world:
“I mean, who wants to go shopping at Macy’s
When this is going on?”

What is happening:
Taye Montgomery, a black 10-year-old boy
Summing up what’s wrong with this world:
“I don’t want, like, people to get mad
At least I got maced and not shot.”
