The Horizon

Those times,
Those precious times.

If we cried, we cried together,
Made a loss a burden to share.
And if we’d die, we’d die together,
We would never be alone down here.

Those fairy tales have come to pass,
I could’ve known it wouldn’t last.
For every story ends in grace,
Leaving only an empty space.

Time has come and time has gone,
The future is always a brighter light.
Which you won’t reach, a horizon.
A goal that makes things worth the fight.

I yearn to relive those times,
That did not seem important then.
But I would pay with heart and soul,
To be there in that age again.
