She's got a single eye on you

She's quiet. She writes. She smiles.

Dark ink dripping from her pen to the ground
down and down and down

She writes some more. People don't notice her
though they might feel her eyes, sometimes

somewhere on their skin. They shiver. They laugh
without knowing why. That was weird

they say, for a second I thought
I saw something, heard something, but it wasn't right

couldn't be. They walk past
She observes. Dips her pen. Smiles smiles smiles

writes writes writes
The pages move. She tells them to keep still.
They will.

She dips deep her pen and smiles again and again

You won't see her, but she
sees
you.
