    Komen en gaan verstrengeld
    in een innige omhelzing,
    wijzers van de klok vervullen
    hun functie als trouwe dienaren
    van de vergankelijkheid.

    Het woordje ‘afscheid’ slaapt
    op haar tong, ontwaakt langzaam,
    vindt de weg naar haar lippen.
    Hij kust het er vanaf.

    Ze draait zich om,
    wordt passagier van de vergetelheid.
    Hij telt haar stappen, ziet hoe
    kofferrood vloekt bij intercitygeel.

    Even, heel even,
    kleurt hun blauwe maandag
    gitzwart.
