    High Schools - and teenagers in general - are known for their clichés, stereotypes and drama. Friends are made and lost, enemies lurk around every corner and teachers are the worst. Here at Borealis, it isn't any different. Or is it?

    Eventhough the Hunter Community is really close, it's still a community. And some people tend to not fit in. Orphans, trouble makers and other unwanted children only have one place to go: Borealis. A school - a fucking community - in the middle of icecold nothing. These kids might be special, they might have abilities, they might have a perfect shot, but they're still kids. So prepare, for all the clichés, stereotypes and drama. Because Borealis is not that different at all ...

    Yo. I've got some stuff to say, before I start this thing.

    ❖ First of all, this RPG is the third one in the same AU. Do you need to know the other two? Nope. Do you have to keep them in mind? Nope, only the stuff I put in here. If you're interested, you can go take a look, though: here and here.
    ❖ My second and last point is for the people who took a look or already know me and/or my RPGs. They're kind of ... extensive. Okay, no, they can be huge, I cannot make an RPG without a lot of explanation. And yes, this one is not any different. BUT. (Thank God, there's a but). You don't have to read everything. Your role doesn't have to be the size of a thesis and the RPG is actually pretty simple. All the information I'm just giving for myself and whenever someone has a question, will be gray. You do not have to read it. You may, ofcourse, but you can perfectly ignore that shit. I'm completely fine with that.
    ❖ Remember how I said 'last point'? Yeah, me neither. Anyways, I'm an impatient bitch, evenhough I let other people wait for ages. Sorry about that, really, but anyways; I'm opening this today. Little problem: I'm gone from monday till friday. So, yeah, that's not very smart of me, I know. Anyways, I'll keep an eye on this until mondaymorning. I hope you guys don't have too many questions after that. I'll open the talkyyopic this evening and anyone can open the next one if I'm not back yet. The playtopic will come next saturday.

    ❖ Average temp: -10°C
    ❖ Isolated, but large city, around 25km south.
    The winter is very long (half september till the end of april) and very cold. Snow only falls in september and october , but stays the entire winter. Summer is short and hot during the day, cool/cold during the night.
    ❖ Because of the isolation, there are a lot of lone vampires and werewolves. If you don't get the logic - which is probably, bc this sounds weird - just ask me, bc I don't wanna explain right now.

    The school owns a large area of woods, a lake, sportareas and the buildings. There's also a lot underground. It looks old on the outside, but it's actually quite modern. There's a small airport in the north.

    1) This is where all the paperwork occurs.
    2) This is where new students and travelers sign up. It's also where you have to go when you're 'sent to the principal'.
    3) This is where the students sleep and live when they're not doing anything else. Every student has a room and a small bathroom on their own. There are four floors. The first and second floor are for the children between the ages of 6 and 12. The third and fourth floor are for the students between the ages of 13 and 20. The girls sleep on the 1st and 3rd floor, while the boys sleep on the 2nd and 4th floor. Showers are mutual and there's 10 of them on every floor. In the livingspace you have a few large rooms with TV's, pooltables, whatever you can think of.
    4) This is where the teachers and other staffmembers live and sleep. It's similar to that of the students, except there are only two floors. The women sleep on the second floor, while the men sleep on the first. There's only one, large living room.
    5) This is where everybody eats. There's room for about 400 people, so it's never full and everybody can sit where they want. There's always bread and breakfast available. If you want to eat something warm, you'll have to be there between 11 AM and 9 PM (21).
    6) These are the bedrooms of the guests. There aren't many of them, but it suffices. They have seperate rooms with their own bathrooms. There's a small, mutual livingroom.

    7) This is where the smaller children have their 'normal' classes. It's comparable to elementary school.
    8) This is where the teenagers have their 'normal' classes. It's something in between middle and highschool.
    9) This building has two rooms: A music room (with all the instruments you can think off) and a large aula, suitable for around 600 people.
    10) This is the library. Students can study and read here. Besides the normal world books, there are also a lot of books about the Hunter world. Most of them are copies of the originals.
    11) This is where the students get their theoretical classes. Half of the building resembles more of a museum, though.
    12) This is where the sick and injured are treated. They are prepared for a lot, but when someone is hurt really bad, there's always a small airplane or helicopter available.
    13) This is where students can shop. From clothes and toothpaste to weapons, alcohol and sigarettes, you can find almost anything here. And if you can't, you're allowed to order it here as well.

    1) This is where the school keeps all the original books and all the records of every person who has walked through the gates.
    2) This is the research labaratory of the school. It's full of weird stuff and it's very modern, but it lacks WiFi.

    4) This is a large shooting range. It's always kept in top condition.
    5) It resembles a gym, but it has a simulationprogram and all kinds of weaponry.
    6) This resembles a dojo. It's where the close combat classes take place. There are matts and mirrors.
    7) This is the place where you can train with all the non-shooting weapons.
    8) This is just a regular gym. You can play all kinds of sports here.


    Rules
    ❖ Alcohol is forbidden under the age of 17
    ❖ Cigarettes are forbidden under the age of 15
    ❖ All drugs are forbidden
    ❖ Guns and other shooting weapons aren't allowed outside the shooting range, unless you have permission
    ❖ Students are not allowed to enter the Archives
    ❖ Students are not allowed to leave the terrain without permission
    ❖ Students from the ages 6 to 12 have to be in their building between 8:30 PM and 7 AM
    ❖ Students from the ages 6 to 12 have to be on their floor between 9:30 PM and 6 AM
    ❖ Students from the ages 6 to 12 have to be in their room between 10 PM and 5:30 AM
    ❖ Students from the ages 13 to 20 have to be in their building between 10:30 PM and 5 AM
    ❖ Students from the ages 13 to 20 have to be on their floor between 11 PM and 5 AM
    ❖ Students from the ages 13 to 20 have to be in their room between 12 PM and 5 AM
    ❖ Students have to pay their respects for every graduated hunter.
    ❖ To avoid misuse of the previous rules, every graduated hunter has to leave the school for at least two years.
    ❖ The rooms will be checked every sunday. Privacy will be kept, but the dorms have to be clean and tidy.
    ❖ No one is allowed to hurt anyone in anyway, unless it's during training.
    ❖ Pets are allowed


    Students
    ❖ This isn't a school for every regular hunter. In fact, only three kinds of children end up here:
    - The ones who don't have a Hunter family that is big enough to give them the proper training. They are usually sent by their parents or other family members.
    - Orphans. They are the ones who are discovered and usually don't know anything about Hunters until they arrive at the school.
    - The troublemakers and unwanted. These children are usually so awful their family sent them away to gain some discipline. Most children belong in this group.

    ❖ The school houses children between the age of 6 and 20. That means every child has had the test with the photograph and everyone stays - unless something really serious happened - until their graduation.
    ❖ These children do not excist for the normal world. They don't have valid papers, or those won't be used.
    ❖ At the moment, there are 186 students housed. There are 53 teachers and 16 other staffmembers.


    Vacation
    Although this is a hard environment and there isn't much space for mental issues and care, they are not entirely unreasonable. The children can leave the school.
    ❖ They spend the coldest period of the year (half december - half februari) in a different country. Usually somewhere in Europe or North-America. The school will be divided in groups of maximum 50 and be stationed at a Quarter. This is not a break and the lessons (usually exams) will continue.
    ❖ The schoolyear ends on the 16th of June. It starts again on the 23rd of July.
    ❖ They get to go on a vacation in juli. It's three weeks long and they can choose their own destination (one that's on the list (15)). After these three weeks, school starts again.
    ❖ They often get a few days of during the year.
    ❖ Last winter, they went to Dubhaile, Scotland.
    ❖ Although it's not allowed, there are often parties for the students aged 15 or older. They take place in some of the old, not used buildings further north on the terrain.


    Training
    ❖ 6 years old: The children are shown a picture of a vampire. If they cannot see them, they are hunters. This is the age they are allowed at the school.
    Start of theoretic lessons.
    ❖ 8 - 10 years old: The children get their partner - with a maximum age difference of two years, although they try to keep the difference as small as possible - and a small brand of a moon on their right wrist. They start as soon as the youngest of the two turns 8.
    Start of practical lessons.

    ❖ 11 - 13 years old: They get to go on their first hunt, but are not allowed to kill anything - unless it cannot be avoided. They are guided by at least one more experienced hunter couple, who do most of the job.
    Choice of specialisations.*
    Theoretic lessons stop.
    ❖ 14 - 16 years old: They get to go on their first, unguided hunt. This is - after graduation - the highlight of their study. This is the moment their first kill happens. After this day, they go on a hunt every two weeks. They get a larger, but simple tattoo. Whenever they reach a certain amount of kills, the tattoo gets more detailed. (1ste kill, 10de kill, 25ste kill, 50ste kill, 80ste kill 100ste kill, 145ste kill, 200ste kill. After this one, a new tatto will be started.)
    ❖ 18 - 20 years old: They graduate. There's a ceremony each year, but I'm too lazy to think off that. They get another brand of a sun on their left wrist. Afterwards, they get a week to pack their stuff and leave. They are not allowed to come back for at least 2 years. However, they are allowed to keep their contacts and see their friends, just not at school.
    ❖ Ofcourse, not every student arrives at the school at the age of 6. The ones who are older get an adapted cousre. It's usually more intense and a lot more difficult as they get the same amount of time. Students who arrive really late, usually never become true Hunters and will become Teachers or researchers.


    Lessons
    Normal

    They get a normal education, although it's a bit easier than usual. It's a lot of selfstudy and it's only the basic classes. The older you get, the more you have to do on your own.

    *Specialisations

    ❖ Firearms; History (FH): This is a course that cannot be taken alone. Students who follow weapondevelopment have to take it, while it's an option for the students who follow the course Firearms; Practice.
    ❖ Handarms; History (HH): This is a course that cannot be taken alone. Students who follow weapondevelopment have to take it, while it's an option for the students who follow the course Handarms; Practice.
    ❖ History & Research of Hunters (H&RH): You'll learn everything there is to know about Hunters, which isn't that much. This is a course that is looked down upon and not many students take it. The History part is quite extensive, but there isn't much budget and interest for the research.
    Practice
    ❖ Kill & Conquer; Vampires (KCV): This is the course where you'll learn every detail about killing vampires.
    ❖ Kill & Conquer; Werewolves (KCW): This is the course where you'll learn every detail about killing werewolves.
    ❖ Firearms; Practice (FP): You'll learn about guns and everything that shoots. You also learn how to use most of them, and choose a few to specialise in.
    ❖ Handarms; Practice (HP): You'll learn about knives, swords and every weapon that doesn't require munition. You also learn how to use most of them, and choose a few to specialise in.
    ❖ Close Combat (CC): Here you'll learn how to fight when you don't have a weapon.
    Both
    ❖ Weapon Development (WD): Here you'll learn how to change, improve or invent weapons of all kinds and other aids for hunting. Students who take this course also have to follow the History of both kinds of weapons.
    ❖ Medicine: This is where you'll learn advanced first aid and everything else you need to know about healing and stuff. The students can choose how many years they'll take this course and when to start, as it's based at level and not at age.
    ❖ Foreign Cooperation (FC): This is already very specific. The students who take this course will be Travelers, which are some kind of ambassadors/negotiators. This course includes at least 2 more languages (choosing from Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, Spanish & French), communication and culture & customs. They also take two more short trips to other countries, in octobre and march.


    Exams

    ❖ They have regular tests
    ❖ There are midterm exams in january and final exams in the last and first two weeks of june.


    Money
    ❖ To keep it easy, we'll just use the euro. I don't have a clue what the normal prices are in Russia (1 euro = almost 60 ruble, but idk how much a bottle of water costs, ya know.)
    ❖ Every student gets some pocket money. When they're younger than 12, they get 20 the month. When they're older, they get 40.
    ❖ Kids who still have a family, often get more money sent to them.
    ❖ The students can earn some money when they do chores.


    Sports
    ❖ There are only teams when the interest is big enough. They play a lot of sports during training, but outside of that it depends. I'll go further on with this if people are interested.

    ☠ Hunters ☠

    ❖ At least one of the parents has to be a Hunter as well. That's the only requirement.
    ❖ Hunters cannot turn into a monster.
    ❖ Hunters can recognize monsters, they're more fit physically and they are more resistant to pain and illness.
    ❖ At the proper age, they have to take a test. The results of this test determine the partner. Hunters almost never hunt without their partner and they learn to train together. They can, however, take different courses. Every combination (male x male, male x female, female x female, ...) is possible and there are no restrictions on the relationship between them.
    ❖ There are a few rules every hunter has to keep:
          - Humans have to be kept out at all costs. This means physically, but also by knowledge.
          - Werewolves may not be harmed when they are in human form, unless it's self-defence.
          - One bullet is better than two.
          - Never make a vampire go into a Tantrum on purpose
          - Never hurt a non-feeding member of the Colonies.


    ☠ Monsters ☠

    If you've got the time and motivation; you can read everything about vampires and werewolves here. If you don't; just keep this shit in mind:
    Vampires
    ❖ Hunters recognize them because they do not have a reflection or show on images and film. This is uniquely for Hunters.
    ❖ They can die when you cut of their head, damage their heart enough or put them on fire.
    ❖ Their biggest weakness is sunlight for young vampires, and elektricity for them all. And fire, but that's kind of everybody's weakness.
    Werewolves
    ❖ Hunters recognize them because their irises are completely black (not their entire eyes, just the colourpart). Only Hunters can see this.
    ❖ They can die whenever you hurt them enough.
    ❖ Only changed werewolves are a target. It's forbidden to kill a werewolf in humanform, unless it's self-defense.
    ❖ Their biggest weakness is silver.

    Russian. The Vasilyevs are a well-known family in Russia, but also in Europe and even the Americas.


    — S T A T U S
    Popular. Timur has it all: the name, the family, the money, the charm, the good looks. Considering he's also very generous towards the people closest to him, it's no wonder everyone wants to be his friend. He is, however, very selective when it comes to friendship. If he takes a liking to you, you are a very lucky person.

    — L O O K S
    Timur is quite a tall dude with a height of 1.88. He's rather muscular thanks to the intense training he's had since he was 5 and has a very angular face. He has a pronounced jaw line, a straight nose and high cheekbones. His hair is light to dark brown — light in summer, dark in winter — and always messy, but he likes it that way. His eyes are the color of the ocean.
          Like every big Family, the Vasilyevs are proud of their tattoos and very strict about them. The big tattoo, mostly placed on their back or their chest, is made up out of little ones. Each new addition is added when a certain level of their training is reached (first one after the first kill, etc.) Timurs tat is on his back as well. The most recent addition to his back is the tat for his 100th kill.
          Timur has also one piercing: a ring in his right earlobe.
          He likes wearing skaterclothes and snapbacks, but also full black outfits and combat boots. It depends on his mood. He has a personal collection of vintage Nike sneakers.

    — P E R S O N A L I T Y
    Even though Timur certainly looks like he would be the cockiest, popular rich kid to ever exist at Borealis, he isn't that bad. He's very charming, charismatic and is an easy talker. He always knows what to say, even if he doesn't know the person he's talking to very well. You could without a doubt describe him as outgoing and extrovert.
          Timur is a very generous and loyal person towards his friends. Ever since his family sent him away, the close friends he made are his new family and he does everything he can to make them as comfortable and appreciate as possible.
          Despite these good traits, Timur also has a few bad ones. Including being hot-tempered. He's easily offended and the 'forgive but not forget' kind of person. Revenge is also a thing of his if forgiveness isn't an option. The people who wronged him will feel his wrath sooner or later.
          Timur is also very family-based and very proud. Even though his family kind of abandoned him, he won't ever do something to mess up the family's good name and his father's trust is everything to him. Derange that and it's war.

    As the only son of the leader, the Patriarkh, of the Vasilyev Family, Timur was definitely shaped to become the new leader as soon as he left the womb. This however led into him having an attitude, even to the rest of his family, resulting to his father sending him away from the family's stronghold near Kiroshevk to Borealis for some discipline. He's only allowed to come back for the standard, mandatory, week-long camp, every three months.
          About the family: The Vasilyev family is one of the most well-known Hunterfamilies and they are very conservative and tradition-bound. They call their fellow hunters brothers and sisters. The Vasilyev's are specialized in weapon-development and have their own company called Vasil INC, owned by his father and his father's brother. Vasil INC is the basis of the weapon-industry in Europe and Asia, for equally humans as hunters.


    — R E L A T I O N S H I P S
          Rose | Ever since he came to Borealis, he's liked her a lot. He doesn't remember why he was so enchanted by her, while all the other girls around him meant nothing, but he still remembers how much he wanted her to be his. At some point his behavior towards her became quite... problematic, some would say. Or stalker-ish. He waited up on her after every class, joined her during lunch and bought her gifts all over the place. Sadly she would have none of it and it broke his heart. Yet the stalking didn't stop after that and it reached its highest point when, one evening, he got drunk with some friends and noticed her going to the lake. He followed her and raped her. The morning after he remembered everything and was very ashamed. He thought she didn't remember but when it became clear she did, he tried to apologize. Needless to say, that conversation went south real quick and being afraid that the school and his parents would find out and he'd get expelled or disowned, he began telling everyone they had sex and she wanted it and she was crazy in love with him. He knew his friends and the other students and even teachers would believe him over her, due to her reputation as a slut and his as a good boy... He's pissed at himself for ruining his chances with her — the fact that he fucked her up mentally didn't even cross his mind once — but he's still as in love with her as ever and hopes she'll get over it eventually.

    One thing people always notice about Dana is her red hair. That isn’t difficult, as it is one of her most outstanding features. She is proud of her hair. Her hair is straight, but sometimes she curls it. She used to spend a lot of time to make sure her hair looked perfect, but by now she knows all the tricks and can make the most spectacular braids by herself in only a couple of minutes.
    With her 1.56 she is really little. That’s why she always wears heels. She has practiced a lot with them and by now she can run and climb as easy in heels as in sneakers. She wears anything she’s comfortable in, but as she loves fashion and clothes, it will fit together.

    Dana is a complex person – or, that’s how her parents would describe her. She knows what she wants and she’s willing to fight for it, but she knows when to stop or change directions for her own benefit. That’s what makes her unpredictable – still, according to her parents.     According to herself, she’s not that complex. Yes, she’s stubborn and wants the best she can get, but she stops before other people get hurt. Maybe she’ll find a way to convince you, but even then it’s still your choice to follow her.
    She’s quite social and loves to be around people. She makes friends easily and has a weakness for the people who are trying to push others away. They have so much more inside them and she wants to get to know them, to see if she can break down their walls. Behind every bitch and every lonely person there is a story that made them like that, and she wants to see if she can figure them out.
    She will not bend easily for other opinions but she knows how to let people, especially adults, think she’s a little angel. That’s how she can get out of a lot of punishments, because they think she’s more perfect than she actually is.     Maybe she’s a bit nosy as she always wants to know everything, but she doesn’t mean it badly. She just likes to be part of a group.     Dana has four elder brothers. Maybe that’s the reason she isn’t scared of getting physical in fights. She literally had to fight her way through her brothers. They care about her, but at the same time they tease and pester her. She had to be strong to fight back.
    Her parents couldn’t get a grip on her, especially as they first treated her as their precious princess and realised too late she was using that in her advantage. That’s why they sent her at Borealis a year ago, hoping she would learn some discipline. As a child from a hunter-family she has no choice than to become a hunter, but she rather dances. Her parents hope Borealis will change her mindset, so she forgets she wants to be a dancer and becomes what they want her to be.

    Mason doesn't have any nicknames, since you can't really make anything exciting out of his first name. It's not that he hates nicknames, but he's just not a big fan of all the names people come up with for him. Most of the time they're either Mase of M and he doesn't like them.

    He's nineteen years old. His birthday is on february 14th, which means he was born on valentinesday.


    NATIONALITY
    Unlike others Mason doesn't know what his exact nationality is. He was raised in America, but he has no idea in which country his parents were born. If anybody asks what is nationality is, he always says he's American.
    PERSONALITY
    Mason is most definitely not an easy person. First of all: he's very loud and opinionated. He always says what he's thinking and he won't hold back for anybody. He doesn't really care about the other persons feelings when it comes to giving his opinion. If he doesn't like you, he will tell you and he won't sugercoat it in any way. Mason likes to talk and he loves to hear himself talk. He thinks everbody likes his big stories, but on the other hand, he doesn't really care if you don't like them - he will tell them anyway.
          Mason can be described as mean. He can be mean, really really mean actually. He's the typical bully from a teenage movie. He shoves people against the wall, he walks around like he's the king of the world and he will make fun of you if he wants to. He's big, strong and good looking - the perfect image for a bully. He likes to feel better than others. Sometimes Mason tends to get a little violent. He has anger issues and sometimes he loses control. When he loses control, he's actually very dangerous. He doesn't know right from wrong and at times he doesn't even know who his friends or enemies are. When he's having an attack like that, there are only a few people who can calm him down.
          Of course this boy also has his good sides. For example: he's a really good friend. He will protect you no matter what and he will always stick up for you. When Mason wants to do something, he always does it for 100%. Mason is a charming guy towards most women. He doesn't disrespect them, eventhough a lot of people think he's a player. Yes, he loves to flirt and have some action with girl, and sometimes that doesn't really go the way he wants it to. But that doesn't mean he's a heartless flirt. Mason never experienced love for a girl. Love is something he doesn't really understand, so he likes to stay away from it as much as possible because he's actually afraid of getting hurt.
          When it comes to school, Mason is an average person. He studies enough to get good grades, but he doesn't love studying. He wants to be a good hunter, but he can be a bit lazy at times. Mason loves outside activities like sports, because he's a very sporty and athletic person.

    Mason's past is quite complicated and he prefers to not talk about it too much. Christopher "Chris" and Meredith Saunders were married for years when they decided they wanted a baby, but for some reason Meredith didn't get pregnant. They tried for years, but nothing worked. At one poin they stopped trying and decided they wanted to adopt a baby. So when they were 36 they adopted the little Mason. Mason got all the love a little kid could wish for, he was a very happy child. Eventhough he was very young, he noticed that his skin colour was different from his parents, but he didn't realise it was because he was adopted. When Meredith was fourty years old, a miracle happened: she was pregnant (Mason was three years old at that time) and nine months later she gave birth to their son Phoenix. Growing up, Mason began to see that he was really different from his younger brother. At the age of ten Chris en Meredith told the boy he was adopted. Mason wasn't shocked or anything, he always knew he wasn't exactly like them.
          Ever since he found out he was adopted, Mason changed a little. He still loved his parents and his younger brother, but he created some distance towards them. When he was eleven he wanted to know who his real parents were. He tried to find out, but Meredith stopped him. She told him that his mother was very young when she got him and she was able to take care of him. Mason decided to no longer look for his parents, although he didn't really believe the story.
          In that same year Borealis reached out to him, because he was a so called Hunter. It turned out that Meredith and Chris both were hunters too and so was Phoenix. His biological parents were also hunters and for some reason they couldn't take care of Mason, so they found Meredith and Chris to take care of him. Mason still has a hard time with not-knowing who his parents are.
          His biological mother is called Keisha DiAngelo, she was only 23 when Mason was born. She wasn't able to take care of him and since he was a hunter, she wanted him to be raised right. Mason's father is unknown for anybody but Keisha. It was a man she had sex with once and when she told him she was pregnant, he didn't want to have anything to do with her. She couldn't raise the baby alone, so she gave him up for adoption.

    The surname on his birthcertificate is Amoretto. Ironicly, it basically means love. If you add his first name, you get the worse combination possible for this boy. When he got adopted, this changed to Valescu. Although Valentino doesn't mind hearing or using his full name, he hates the English form, Valentine. The hate worsened after one of the students read the Mortal Instruments. He's also frequently called Vale [Va-lee] or [Val-ie], which is completely fine. He doesn't always react to his surname, as if he still isn't used to it.

    Basically, he's a smart psychopath who knows how to make an entire school think he's one of those loveable, popular goody-two-shoes. He seems to have no good traits, except maybe for his discipline and ambition to become a great hunter (although, the first one is because he doesn't want to get into serious trouble, and the second one is not because he likes helping mankind, but because he loves to hurt and kill living (well sort of living) things and this is the perfect way out).

    Vale was born in a small, remote village in the north of Italy. They didn't have any contact anymore with the Hunter community and did not know what they were, which made them believe they were cursed. Naturally, this was what Vale learned in the first five years of his existence. Any normal child would have been filled with fear and faith, but not Vale. He wasn't faithfull at all and soon his family thought they were cursed again.
    When he turned five, his parents got past the point of having any hopes for their evil son, who didn't seem to care about the punishments and prayers. It only had gotten worse. So they drove him to the next town, and the next, and the next, untill they reached Rome. They dropped him off, put the car in reverse and never looked back to their 'demon'child.
    Although Vale is still filled with a cold rage because of this abandonment, he managed quite well. He didn't only learn how to survive on the streets, but also to manipulate, deceive and hurt other people, without getting caught (that much). He also learned how to control his temper and urges, as they only brought him trouble. His still undiscovered Hunter genes helped him a lot, as he was faster, smarter and a lot stronger whenever he needed to be. He didn't have the training any normal Hunterkid had, but he still developed almost all of the skills needed.
    When he was about eight, an Italian woman found him on the streets and figured out that he was a hunter. She gained just enough trust - mostly because he could finally make sense of his abilities - and convinced him to move in with her and her family. Vale's new family is everything he doesn't deserve. They are warm and loving and hugging, which he really dislikes. He never called them mum and dad and they accepted that. He also got a sister, although they don't really have the standard sibling relationship. Réka has grown up with him and probably knows him better than anyone and she actually is the person closest to him, although they probably don't realise that. They mostly stay out of eachother's way.
    When he hit puberty, the distance between him and his family grew and his foster parents decided to send him to Borealis. They still love him and support him, but he's glad he got to an environment that suits him better. His sister came along, to benefit the same training as he would.
    Last year, his partner got killed during a hunt. The circumstances are still pretty vague, but Vale made sure his tracks were covered. Ofcourse, he still acts like it hurt him a lot, but in fact, he felt absolutely nothing, besides maybe a small spark of joy. He never got close with his partner - or really anyone, unlike some people might think - and due to his age, he hasn't gotten a new one. Since he's almost graduating and he's studying FC, they aren't really looking after a new one either. He's completely fine with that and goes hunting with one of the younger teachers instead. He's trying to get the permission to go on his own.

    Réka had a very happy childhood. She grew up as an only child. She was certainly not spoiled. Her parents loved her very much, but they made sure that Réka was grateful and learned to ask for thing nicely and to work hard in life. Her father is Romanian and used to be a gypsy. This was something that wasn't accepted in society. He met the beautiful Italian Isabella and when they got married, he changed a lot. When Réka was six years old, her mother went to visit her family in Rome.
    After a few weeks she came back with a young boy, named Valentino. He was only two years older than Réka. Isabella and Vasile decided to raise the poor boy, because he was all alone and had nowhere to go. At first Réka wanted to accept Vale in her life, because she felt bad for hem. It didn't take long before Réka found out that Vale was not an innocent and sweet boy. She started to dislike him after a few years. She's civil with him, but she doesn't really like him. She tends to argue with him at times, but she will never push his buttons on purpose because she has a bad feeling about him and his temper. Sometimes they get along better, but that's not usual for them.
    Réka has a good life at Borealis. She has a few, close friends who she loves. She doesn't really care about the other students, because they didn't really make a good impression on her.
