Hailey Miller is een meisje uit Los Angeles, maar sinds die ene gebeurtenis verhuist ze naar de andere kant van Amerika, New York. Ze moet een heel ander leven leiden en ze moet zich voort doen als iemand die ze niet is. Niemand, behalve haar gezin, weet wie ze echt is. Ze houdt een masker voor zich tot ze de jongen Liam Payne leert kennen. Onmiddellijk hebben ze een goede band, maar toch voelt het aan alsof ze de jongen beliegt en bedriegt. Zal ze hem kunnen zeggen wat er in haar leven is gebeurd waardoor ze juist dat masker draagt? Of blijft ze liegen tegen de persoon die het beste met haar voor heeft?

I lost him a long time ago. I never heard of him again. But when I saw him that night, I knew instantly he was my better half. So, I went back. Back to my hometown, and I confronted Tricia. She was crying in the living room and I just couldn't forgive her. Her secret was awful and now I have to live with his hate. He though he was thrown aside so I could become famous. But sadly, that wasn't the case. I thought he was dead.
