All That Glitters Isn't Gold

Magic: It's still very much alive in this world. Warlocks, masters of this magic, still live among us, hidden from Human sight. A few centuries ago, a strong warlock made a very strange discovery. When too much magic manifests in an infant's body, it crystallises in the infant's chest in the form of a gemstone. These 'Gem children' grow up as very sickly babies before turning into very strong humans. The warlocks did not care for the child and killed it to harvest the gemstone from its chest. For a while, the warlock was the most powerful of his kind thanks to the raw power of this gemstone. Then his secret came out.
Ever since, the Gem children have been ruthlessly hunted down. Rare as they are, they already face extinction. Not all Warlocks could be bothered to hunt for this power. And this was how the Hunters were created. Humans were chosen to be charmed with a special strength, and they were blackmailed into doing the Warlocks' dirty work. This was easy until one exceptionally strong Warlock, Raisa Romaine Dvornikov, build a house and charmed it to protect the Gemchildren. Any gemchild was welcome, but Hunters would be unable to breath when they crossed the threshold into the building.
This RPG follows the gemchildren, the warlocks, their hunters and their stories.

RPG Rules
1)English only
2)6 line minimum per post; (12 minimum if you have two characters in the post)
3)2 characters maximum;
4)Anything unrelated to the RPG in the chat topic;
5)No killing a character without permission of the owner;
6)No 'perfect characters'. Each character must have a few flaws;
7)Wait 2-3 posts before replying again;

Rules related to Gemhearts
1)They must have one personality trait that related to their Heartstone; (Find the list of traits here)
2)They can only use their special ability when they are holding a stone similar to their heartstone in their hand;
3)They are either taken into the protection house by Raisa the Warlock, or they hear about it and find it themselves;
4)They are allowed to leave the protection house, but it is dangerous.

Rules related to Warlocks
1)Warlocks don't just snap their fingers to use their magic. They use long spells, runes and potions to achieve their goals;
2)They are not all powerful.;
3)They can't bring people back from the dead.
4)Warlocks can track the movements of their Hunter, but not read their mind or anything.

Rules related to Hunters
1)Hunters are normal non-magical people who get blackmailed by the Warlocks to kill Gemchildren.
2)They wear an enchanted necklace which gives them more strength than normal Humans and helps them tell Normal children from Gemhearts.

Full name: Scarletta Chióni Istoría
Nickname: Scar, Letty (she hates that nickname) or Letta
Age: 100, she's a very young Warlock
Place of birth: Cambridge, England, Hospital of Cambridge
Date of birth: 4th of June, 1912
Sex: Obviously female
Sexuality: Scarletta doesn't know. She never fell in love actually
Ethnicity: Quarter Irish, Quarter English, Half Italian
Race: Warlock. She's a sort of good warlock, but she doesn't really choose a side. Dark or Light, it doesn't really mater to her
Blood type: She doesn't know. She never went to a hospital, besides the time for a burned place on her arm.
Height: Scarletta is not very tall, she's just 1.68 meters tall
Weight: She weighs almost 52 kilos
Hair colour: Originally, it's brownish. She dyed it redish.
Eye colour: Scarletta has a kind of weird eyes. When the seasons change, the colour changes. In spring it's green, in summer it's green with brown dots and a blue line around the pupil, in autumn they're darker green with darker brown dots and a darker blueish line around the pupil and in winter her eyes are a sort of sea blue with ice blue around the pupil.
Clothing style: Sort of gothic, emo/scemo
Extra details: Scarletta Always has a dagger with her. The dagger has the family weapon on it. She wears dark make-up and has a tattoo of a cross on her hand. It's very detailed and doesn't look like the cross of Jesus Christ. It's the sort cross that's used in the gothic style.
Her left arm shows a burned place. It's from the Second World War. She fought with the English against the German and got burned by a sort of bomb.
Scarletta also has a piercing in her lip and in both her ears. She wants another tattoo, but she's not sure yet.
Likes: Scarletta likes the way rain falls down and she loves all kinds of cats and birds of prey. Also, she loves to draw or write, though she's not very good at writing. She doesn't really have friends, her friends are her pets.
Dislikes: Scarletta hates the nickname "Letty" and she quite hates the sun as well. She hates it when she's being called a cat, because she's quite mean and she has some characteristics of a cat.
Characteristics: Scarletta has a sort of Irish accent when she speaks English. It's a mixture between an Irish, an Italian and an English accent. Scarletta is mean and she hits you very fast when you insult her or her family/friends. When you get to know her better, she's just a "normal" girl who's quite nice. Though Scarletta is a hundred years old, she feels like she's just fifteen years old.
She has four cats - a black cat (Salem), a redish cat (Clock), a light brownish cat (Limoncello) and a white cat (Lacie) - and two birds of prey - an owl (Parallel) and an eagle (Skía).
Scarletta has only one friend and they sey it's a family member. The name of that friend is Adreiana and she's 18 years old. She doesn't know Scarletta is a warlock and she doesn't know Scarletta is an ancestor of her.
Further, Scarletta is a smart girl who hates it when she's mistaken for a Dutch girl. She has done University - as far as she could do it when she was younger - and she's also a sort of teacher. Just a private teacher.
Scarletta has developed just as the world did. She wears what "everybody" wears now.
She can speak a lot of languages. German, English, Gaelic, Italian, French, Japanese, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and more.
Family History From the beginning of the Earth, the Istoría family was there. They were the most civilized family in every period of time. However, they weren't very nice to others. They were corrupt, betrayed everyone and they were a kind of dictators. When the first girl in that family was born - Chióni - they became even more corrupt and even worse. When the second girl - Scarletta - was born, they changed. Because Scarletta had a kind of power, they thought they had to change, because otherwise she would destroy them. All of the Istoría family were very old when they died. Some of them had magical powers, just like Scarletta and are still alive. Some members of the Istoría family died because they were executed by the guillotine because of their high stand in France. Scarletta has roots everywhere in the world. In Russia, in Hungary, in Greece, in Italy, in America, in Japan, in Ireland, in Scotland, in Englandand in more countries.
History: Scarletta was born on the 4th of June in the year 1912. She was two years old when the First World War started. After the war, she found out about her powers and she trained them. She became "immortal" just 23 years after she was born. She was "27 years old" when the Second World War started. After that war, she had the burned place on her arm.
It was quite peaceful after the war and she had the chance to build the house - sort of castle - she lives in now. It's a huge house with two towers. She has a lot of books, stored in a large library. She made two statues of lionnesses, "protectors" of the door.
After thirty years, living alone in the house, Scarletta started to write and draw. Her drawings sucked, but it was a way to not let the boredness become a part of her. Furthermore, Scarletta was one of the leaders in the Cold War. She was Always aware of the possibility of a fight.
Now, Scarletta is one of the youngest Warlocks and she does the things she want.

Full name: Alois Amboise.
Nickname: Sho.
Age: 35.
Place of birth: Amboise.
Date of birth: 24 december 1977.
Sex: Male.
Sexuality: Truth be told, he does not know. He despises sexuality in any form or way and can't imagine people showing love or affection physically.
Ethnicity: Caucasian.
Race: Human.
Blood type: B+.
Height: 1,80.
Weight: 75.
Hair colour: Ash blonde.
Eye colour: Blue.
Clothing style: Sho is a person who sticks by the golden rule: the simpler the better. His clothes nearly all consist of one plain color, mostly sand-colored or a some shade of red.
A grasp of his clothes: A blouse.
A shirt
Black pants and his shoes.
He usually wears black jeans or trousers, depending on what is affordable and look acceptable. The lesser the expenses on clothing, the better. Needless to say, Sho does rarely wear any accessories and almost always buys his clothing at thrift shops. The only exception to this being the necklace given to him by the Warlock and his older brother's ring. He doesn't have a materialistic mind as he spends his money nearly solely on food and cigars, therefore allowing his clothes to get old and dusty. He has the habit of wearing white on sundays.
As he exits his house, he almost always wear a sand-colored checkered plaid, which serves as a coat.
During summer, he goes by wearing plain shirts or blouses and khaki pants.
Extra details:
The use of the given necklace's power by the warlock has its drawback on Sho. Due to his genetic structure, several recessive malfunctioning genes have mutated, making him slowly ill. This has its effect on his system. He suffers from strange muscle aches and occasional fevers or colds paired with coughing blood and daziness. These strange symptoms have become more and more frequent recently. To counter this, Sho uses a variety of vitamin pills and other medication.
Prior to his departure, Sho received his brother's ring as a vow to him and his brother to come back one day and see him again.
His older brother is the only one in his family Sho truly loves.
Sho's name means 'bright' and 'to fly', however Alois adopted the name as an abbreviation for 'Shogun', the historic term for a Japanese military dictator.
Sho preferably uses poison to kill someone rather than brute violence.
Likes: Sho likes cigars, ratatouille (he is quite good at making this), nearly any kind of vegetable, creme brulee, jogging and training, whiskey, swimming, drawing and walking.
Dislikes: Sho dislikes a lot of things. Physical contact, children and babies, not being able to sleep, running out of smokes, competition, his warlock, his family, other foes, rain, sun, wind, snow, indecent food, indecent people and clinging women are a few of the things he dislikes.
Characteristics: (Minimum of 10 lines)
As an Amboise, Sho still has a tendency to be overly formal with people despite him trying to drop that characteristic. He also prefers a good wine over beer, something that contrasts greatly with his overal appearance. He is quite muscular built with broad shoulders, the most prominent evidence of his physical strength. The man has shaggy shoulder-length hair that he usually keeps loose. Only seldom does he wear a pony tail. He is stated to be quite attractive by a few people recently and never fails to draw female attention when he is in a bar. Despite this, age and the harsh life he led marked him, as he is shown to have a few lines of age on his forehead and creases under his eyes due to a lack of sleep.
Up to his tenth, Alois used to be a bright cheerful young boy who loved to play and share his belongings with everyone. He was a quite intelligent boy with an interest for history. As a child, Alois spent lots of days reading in the book shelf of their parents when they were not home. He also favoured drawing and painting and was capable of drawing quite accurate portraits for his age as he has a keen eye for detail.
Sho stands up for the people he truly cares about without hesitation and is willing to go through hell and back to protect them.
After his parent's harsh punishment and their change of behaviour towards him, he turned into a timid shy boy who always picked his words carefully and never dared to step out of line.
After his adoptation of the alias 'Sho' the neat, introvert boy turned into a straight-forward stoic collected man who never feared to speak the truth, despite using honorifics such as 'sir' or 'mam'. He is very capable of reading someone's mood - a survival technique he used as a child. He is also shown to be friendly and helpful at times, but does not allow these qualities to interfere with his job. He is usually very calm and collected and is not easily angered by any insults or other verbal provocations. But try and engage him in a physical fight through force and you'll regret it.
Up to this day, Sho is afraid of the dark and has difficulties with sleeping properly. This is one of the reasons why he doesn't allow people sleeping in the same room as him, let alone in the same bed. He is also somewhat prudish and a little shy when given female attention. He has a habit of nagging about the weather at any time.
Despite his aversion against physical contact, Sho is a quite adept fighter and will not hesitate to strike back when you provoke him.
Family History+History: (Minimum of 15 lines)
The house of Amboise are a noble family situated in the town of Amboise, France. In the early past they engaged in crusades and some of them were well acquainted with the pope. Due to their old catholic ties, Sho does rarely curse and prefers to use euphemistic terms such as 'scoundrel'.
Due to his family's status, they were admired and hated by friend and foe and thus the hunter ended up being the hunted. For that reason he is forced to live by an alias and hide his surname.
What has been hidden from the outside world is the genetic disformity of the Amboise family. Whereas most pure bloodlines get weakened by generations of inbreeding, the Amboise family actually becomes stronger. This is the reason why several human mercenaries are hired to find the remaining members, collect their genes for themselves and kill them. Aside from their genes, they are also hunted driven by fear of their strength and a possible new feudal reign.
On top of that, Sho is also the target of a large scaled man-hunt incited by his own family. Since he is one of the last remnants of the Amboise family, he and other remaining members are hunted for the purpose of continuing their bloodline through arranged marriage. Despite this being prohibited by law, such marriages still occur. They were mostly executed by the church through bribes. Sho, forced to partake in such a marriage himself, refused and fled.
The years prior to his escape, Sho grew up in a strict and protective family. He was educated at home at the highest standards and was even taught in etiquette. His childhood was very conservative and he was kept dumb to the world and its dangers. Despite all this, a young Alois fled from home on a regular basis to play with other children when his parents weren't on the scene. One day his cousin Lais (ironically speaking the person whom he is supposed to marry) gave him away and he was punished so severely that he led the rest of his childhood being an introvert and drawn-back child. The consequences of his disobedience was rubbed in the skin even further by his parents favouring his brothers and sisters over him. In this period he used to spend a lot of time at his aunt's and uncle's place to stay away from their parent's reign of terror. There was only one person he liked to spend time with and that was his older brother. However, the place that was supposed to be his sanctuary quickly turned into hell, causing the young Alois great trauma. These cumulating events made Alois to open his eyes and realize the prize that is paid to keep the Amboise family high and mighty. Refusing to play a part in this any longer, he made the decision to break the pillars of family safety and protection and left. That night 'Sho' was born and 'Alois' remains somewhere hidden under a cloak of lies, only visible for himself. Or so he thought. One other person knows the true secret of Alois, the person who drove him from an invisible fugitive to a murderer.
What did the Warlock use to blackmail him/her into being a Hunter?
Simply put: his name and his brother. His warlock has ties with the house of Amboise and the Amboise hunters, thus making it an easy game to rob him of his borrowed power and extradite him to one of these parties. This person is also aware of Sho's affection for his older brother and slowly deteriorating health, but does not cease to exploit his abilities nonetheless.
